Mason Trail - South Slope Recreation Area - Pike National Forest

The Mason Trail is located just east of Cripple Creek, Colorado and follows the west bank of the Mason Reservoir until it reaches the Boehmer Reservoir.

This trail lies in the South Slope Recreation Area of the Pike National Forest  (on the southern slope of Pikes Peak).   This is a beautiful 9.6 mile trail  (out & back) in which you are rewarded by experiencing two gorgeous reservoirs (Mason and Boehmer).  There are numerous babbling brooks that you cross over on this route and if you are lucky you may also see elk, moose or bald eagles.

Reservations are required to access this trail and reservoirs. https://parks.coloradosprings.gov/southslope
